The Customer
LoveSac is a unique furniture company that sprang from the mind of teenager Shawn D. Nelson back in 1995. In 2005, Nelson won Fox’s Rebel Billionaire reality show; proving to billionaire Richard Branson that he was the most qualified (out of 16 contestants) for the job of President of Virgin Worldwide.
From that ambitious beginning, LoveSac has progressed to become an international seller of patent-pending furniture that’s comfortable, customizable, washable and perfect for family rooms across the globe. Best known for its namesake “LoveSac” beanbag, as well as patent-pending “Sactionals” (sectional couches), the company is the quickest-growing furniture store in the U.S. and counts both everyday folks and celebrities as loyal customers.

What They Needed
Back in 2015, LoveSac needed help in migrating and upgrading their (then) Magento eCommerce site. They also wanted greater flexibility with respect to maintaining and enhancing their eCommerce website, both in terms of who they wanted to work with, and in what capacity.
In 2017, LoveSac sought out Axioned’s ongoing UAT (user acceptance testing) support for their NetSuite SuiteCommerce InStore (SCIS) system.

The Solution
With respect to our first engagement (for their “then” Magento eCommerce website), we kicked-off the project by conducting an audit that covered the following:
- Technology Standards & Conventions Adherence
- Site Security
- Site Performance, incl. Speed
- DevOps Maturity
- UX/UI Bugs & Issues
After presenting our audit results, it was decided that the priority project was to assist LoveSac in moving from Rackspace to AWS (Amazon Web Services), for hosting. From there, we proceeded as per the priorities established between the LoveSac and Axioned team members.
Today, our ongoing support for LoveSac is focused on UAT (user acceptance testing) support for their NetSuite SuiteCommerce InStore (SCIS) system.
The Result
With respect to our first engagement, we enabled the LoveSac team to no longer be dependent on a single 3rd-party service provider for maintaining or enhancing their eCommerce website.
Today, Axioned continues to remain a trusted resource bandwidth partner for LoveSac. Our ongoing support has involved automating test cases for lovesac.com using Selenium Web Driver in addition to supporting their ongoing NetSuite SCIS needs.
